Cities of the Underworld

To promote the second season premiere of History’s hit show “Cities of the Underworld,” the show’s site got a full redesign. In keeping with the key art, we went for a look meant to feel like the user is looking up from the underground, so the page is dark and textured.

The show’s host, Don Wildman, kept detailed scrapbooks for all his trips making the show, and History wanted to find a way to feature this content. We took what we learned building the Monet Sketchbooks app and built a similar interface, featuring interactive page turns and the ability to zoom in 10x, and created a highly trafficked “Don’s Scrapbook” page. We were proud to win an award for the resulting mini-site.
